i have just done a run round the UK and manchester opera house has got to be one of the worst venues in the country... Some of the locals were particularly lazy, Its a bloody hatch doorway with a tiny little hoist, loading bay for the truck is dodgy as manchester... Halifax victoria theatre wasnt much better... similar story with a lift...

The stairs at the Crazy House weren't the problem for me, it was the centimetre of slimey filth that covered the whole stage. I went out to Boots and bought some sterile gloves before I'd even touch anything up there. Wore 'em all night.
There are so many when it comes to clubs across the USA ....
One that comes to mind immediately is The Machine Shop in Flint Michigan.
One of those kinda places where too many people are way too involved in how YOUR show is going to run and lighting is pretty much crap. Typical venue nowdays where they long forgot that not only are they just a speck on the radar, but how to be flexable and accommodating when it comes to different needs for each show. Plus you have the added bonus of a half and half crew .... one half helpful and knowledgeable and the other half more interested in hanging out and couldn't care less about you or your show.
